Brand and Identity Design

Brand and Design

Before anything is built, you need to know what you're building from. Your voice. Your values. Your positioning. The story of why you started and what you're actually here to do.

Brand Foundation $3,000

4 weeks. 1 kickoff call. 1 review call.

Brand System $5,000

6 weeks. Full build. Everything in Brand Foundation, plus:

Print — Cards, stationery, one-pagers, books, packaging. Project-based.

Print design for brands that take the physical world seriously. Business cards that feel like something. One-pagers that actually get read. Books and booklets that reflect the quality of the work inside. Packaging that carries the brand into the hands of the customer.

This is project-based — every print engagement is quoted individually based on scope, quantity and production complexity.

What we do:

  • Business cards and stationery (letterhead, envelopes, notecards)
  • One-pagers and sales sheets
  • Brochures and capability statements
  • Booklets and saddle-stitched books
  • Event programs and menus
  • Packaging design (boxes, bags, labels, tags)
  • Signage and environmental graphics
  • Annual reports and impact documents

How it works: Contact with your project brief, quote within 3 business days, deposit to begin, design, print-ready files delivered (we do not manage print production, but we can recommend vendors).

Print — Typical Pricing
Business cards + stationery $500–$1,500
One-pagers and sales sheets $500–$1,000 each
Booklets (8–32 pages) $1,500–$4,000
Packaging $2,000–$6,000+

Quoted per project. Deposit invoice sent via Stripe after scope is agreed.

Who this is for: Businesses that interact with clients in person and want their physical materials to be as good as their work. Anyone producing something worth printing.

Payment plans are not discounts. They are a different kind of commitment — one that keeps the work present in your life every month.

Pre-buy / future start: Purchase any engagement now and schedule your start whenever you're ready — up to 90 days from first payment. Note your preferred window at checkout or email nick@thestudiolo.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I start if I'm not sure what I need?
Start with a Brand Audit. It's designed to answer that question. For $500–$1,500 you get a clear, written picture of where your brand stands and exactly what to address first. The audit fee is credited toward any larger engagement within 60 days.
How is The Studiolo different from a typical design agency?
A few ways. We do the positioning and identity work before we do the visual work — which means the design is grounded in something real rather than invented from aesthetic preference. We work with a small number of clients at a time. Nick is the person doing the work, not handing it off to a junior designer. And we're not selling ongoing retainers as the default — we build things that last and teach you how to maintain them.
Do you work with businesses outside of Ohio or the US?
Yes. All discovery and strategy work is done remotely. Print projects require production vendors accessible to you. Website and LLM infrastructure work is location-independent.
How many clients do you work with at a time?
Intentionally few. The work requires real attention. At any given time The Studiolo carries 3–5 active brand clients. This is why lead times sometimes exist and why pre-buying a future window makes sense if your timing is flexible.
What do you need from me to start?
After booking, you'll receive an intake form. It covers: your business, your history, your current materials, your goals, your concerns and who your clients are. The more honest and specific you are, the better the work. Most intake forms take 20–30 minutes to complete.
Do you do logo design without the full Brand Refresh?
Rarely and only if you have a strong existing brand system that the logo needs to fit into. A logo without a brand system is like a word without a sentence. If you think you just need a logo, we'll talk — it's possible you're right and it's possible you need more than you realize. The Brand Audit is a good way to find out.
What file formats do I receive at the end of a Brand Refresh?
All final logo files in SVG (vector, infinitely scalable), PNG (transparent background, various sizes), PDF (print-ready) andEPS if requested. Brand guidelines as a PDF. Typography licenses where applicable. All source files (Illustrator/Figma) available on request.
Can you work with our existing designer or internal team?
Yes. Some clients use The Studiolo for strategy and positioning, then hand off to an in-house team for execution. Others want us involved through launch. Either works — scope the engagement to what you actually need.
What's the revision process like?
Brand Refresh includes 2 rounds of visual revisions and 1 round of verbal revisions. A "round" means you review everything, consolidate all feedback into one document and we address it. This keeps the process from fragmenting into endless small changes. Additional revision rounds are available at $250/round.
Do you have a portfolio?
Yes — design.thestudiolo.com. Work shown includes brand identity, print and digital projects. Some client work is shown under NDA and available on request.
What happens if the project goes over timeline?
Most timeline overruns come from delayed feedback or scope expansion on the client side. We'll flag this early and adjust the schedule together. If we cause the delay, we own it and extend at no additional cost. If the scope expands significantly beyond what was agreed, we'll discuss a scope adjustment before proceeding.
